Co-Ownership
Q: What does it mean to be a Co-Owner with Shawty Got Pups?
A: A Co-Owner is an individual who houses a dog that’s part of the SGP breeding program. Your role is simply to provide a loving home, regular attention, and a happy, healthy environment.
Q: Do I need breeding experience to become a Co-Owner?
A: Not at all. No prior experience is needed. Shawty Got Pups will guide you through every step of the process and make sure both you and your dog are fully supported.
Q: Who covers breeding-related costs?
A: Shawty Got Pups covers all breeding-related expenses and coordinates any program-connected vet appointments. As the Co-Owner, you’re responsible for your dog’s regular day-to-day care, including food, grooming, and routine vet visits or vaccinations.
Q: Will the dog live with me full-time?
A: Yes! Co-Owned dogs live full-time with their families as beloved pets. The only times they may travel are for breeding or whelping purposes, and those arrangements are always discussed and planned in advance.
Q: Is there compensation for being a Co-Owner?
A: Yes, Co-Owners receive financial compensation for their participation in the program. While each arrangement may vary, every partnership is designed to be fair, transparent, and mutually beneficial.
Q: How long does Co-Ownership last?
A: Co-Ownership lasts for the duration of the dog’s breeding career. Once retired, your dog remains with you permanently as your family pet. The exact length can vary depending on the individual dog and breeding schedule.
Q: What happens if I move or my circumstances change?
A: Communication is everything. If you move or your life situation changes, Shawty Got Pups will work with you to ensure your dog continues receiving proper care and support during any transition.
Q: What happens during breeding or whelping?
A: Shawty Got Pups coordinates all breeding and whelping logistics. You’ll always be notified ahead of time, and all travel or care arrangements are handled professionally with your dog’s comfort and safety as the top priority.
Q: What makes a great Co-Owner?
A: Great Co-Owners are patient, consistent, and genuinely love their dogs. The best partnerships are built on trust, open communication, and shared care for the animal’s well-being.
Q: Can I have other pets in my home?
A: Absolutely. Many Co-Owners already have pets. We’ll simply confirm that your home environment is safe and compatible with your new addition.
Q: Who decides when and how often breeding happens?
A: Shawty Got Pups determines all pairings and breeding schedules to ensure responsible practices, health, and genetics. You’ll always be informed ahead of time when a cycle or pairing is planned.
SGP Advocates
Q: What happens after I apply as an Advocate?
A: Once you click Join and complete the intake form, an SGP representative will reach out to schedule your onboarding call. During that call, you’ll learn more about how the network works and confirm your consent to participate.
After your onboarding, you’ll receive your Welcome Packet and official Network Documentation, which solidifies your place as a verified SGP Network member.
From there, it’s simple — live life, share opportunities, and submit referral leads whenever you have them. Once a puppy you referred is successfully placed and payment is received, you’ll get paid within 7 days.
Q: What does an SGP Advocate do?
A: Advocates help connect families with Shawty Got Pups by sharing information, photos, and updates about upcoming litters within their community or online.
Q: Do I have to live somewhere specific to be an SGP Advocate?
A: Not at all! You can advocate from anywhere in the world. Shawty Got Pups works with families nationwide and offers both flight and ground delivery, so you can make referrals no matter where you’re located.
Q: Do Advocates sell puppies directly?
A: No — Advocates simply make introductions. Once a referred family completes their puppy purchase, the Advocate earns for that connection.
Q: How are referrals tracked?
A: Every Advocate receives a personalized referral system or tag so all leads are automatically tracked and credited to them.
Q: When and how do Advocates get paid?
A: Advocates receive payment once their referred family finalizes their puppy purchase. Notifications and payment details are provided directly through the SGP team.
